License Agreement

The rules of using PDFBook's desktop app.

This End User License Agreement (“Agreement”) is between you and YumeBytes(the “Licensor”). By installing or using PDFBook, you agree to be bound by this Agreement.

1. Grant of license

Subject to your compliance with this Agreement, YumeBytes grants you a:

  • Free plan: personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the basic features of PDFBook on your own devices.
  • Pro plan: personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use all Pro features for as long as your subscription is active, on any device you sign in to.
  • Lifetime plan: personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use all current and future Pro features in perpetuity on up to 3 devices that you own.

2. Restrictions

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute PDFBook except as expressly permitted.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble PDFBook.
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices.
  • Use PDFBook to provide a competing service.
  • Share, resell, or sublicense your license key.
  • Use a Pro/Lifetime license simultaneously on more devices than your plan allows.

3. License keys

Lifetime customers receive a license key in the format PDFBOOK-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. Keep your key private. If your key is leaked or used in a way that violates this Agreement, YumeBytes may revoke it.

Lost your key? Email support@pdfbook.app from the same address used at purchase and we'll reissue it.

4. Updates

YumeBytes may release updates that add, change, or remove features. Lifetime customers receive all updates at no additional cost. Pro subscribers receive updates while their subscription is active.

5. Ownership

PDFBook (including code, design, branding, and documentation) is owned by YumeBytes and is protected by Japanese and international copyright laws. This Agreement grants you a license, not ownership.

6. Third-party components

PDFBook bundles open-source components (Electron, pdf.js, PDFium, page-flip, etc.). These components are governed by their own licenses. A list of these components and their license notices is available on request at support@pdfbook.app.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

PDFBook is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. YumeBytes does not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every PDF file in existence.

8. Limitation of liability

YumeBytes's total liability under this Agreement is limited to the amount you paid for the license. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

9. Termination

This Agreement is effective until terminated. It terminates automatically if you breach it. Upon termination, you must uninstall PDFBook and destroy any copies in your possession.

10. Governing law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of Japan.
